Today I want to answer some of the most frequently asked questions I get about learning Reiki. Hopefully answering these questions will help you gain some insight on whether to take the leap and learn Reiki for yourself.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is love. In Japanese Reiki translates to spiritually guided life force energy. When you learn Reiki, you tune your energy into these frequencies so that you can channel Reiki for healing.
Everything is energy, your emotions, the things you hold onto, your beliefs, everything that makes up you. Other people also have their own energy that we interact with as we relate with each other. Sometimes the energy we carry is positive, supportive, and thriving.
We can also carry heavy, stagnant energies or not carry enough energy to sustain ourselves. Reiki helps bring in fresh light energy to fill up the spaces and increase our energetic capacity.
When you learn Reiki, you learn how to develop an everyday practice that sustains your energy in balance and vitality!
What are the different levels of Reiki?
There are 3 levels of Reiki training. At each level, you learn something new and tune into the specific aspects of that level.
Level 1 is focused primarily on self-healing and developing a personal Reiki practice. The foundation of Reiki is built on focusing first on your own healing. Reiki 1 also teaches you to work with the physical body for healing.
Level 2 is focused on learning to share Reiki with others. You learn three of the Reiki symbols, distance healing, and working with your spirit guides. You also learn how to work with the emotional and mental bodies. In my courses, I also teach intuition development and working with your intuitive gifts to deliver more impactful results to your clients.
Level 3 is focused on learning to teach Reiki and develop mastery of your skills. In Reiki level 3 you learn to work with the spiritual body and develop specialized skills to support you in your Reiki practice. As a Reiki Master, you learn to work with your guides to learn new skills and deliver powerful healing to clients.
Do I have to do anything to prepare for a Reiki course?
No, I only ask that my students come with an open mind ready to learn. When you learn Reiki, it will take you on your journey. Reiki will show you the changes you need to make in your life and support you in doing so.
There is nothing you need to do or become in order to receive the gift of Reiki.
Can I only take Reiki if I plan on working with others?
No, Reiki is a beautiful gift to share with others, if you feel called to do so. However, there is no obligation to share with others. Learning Reiki is always about developing your own personal practice first. There are so many ways that you can apply Reiki in your life that donβt include starting a Reiki practice.
Who can learn Reiki? Who is this for?
Reiki is for everyone, just like meditation. For many people learning Reiki can simply be used to enhance their meditation practice and promote their own self-healing. Reiki is for anyone who wants to empower themselves in their healing journey.
Becoming a Reiki practitioner is for anyone who wants to learn how to better show up in their relationships with others. Reiki teaches you how your energy interacts with others and how that interaction can be helpful or harmful. Learning Reiki helps you to have more positive relationships and interactions. This can be in any relationship, whether that be friends, partners, or clients.
